In Part 1 of our UI/UI Policy Accelerator series, we discussed how to create Bulk Actions for a UI Policy on forms based on a specific condition. In this article, we’ll be focusing on how to create bulk policy actions for Service Catalog.

The functionality stays the same pretty much but includes a few modifications and optimization upgrades.

Features

The following features are introduced in this version:

Catalog Support: This version supports the bulk actions for the variables associated with Catalog Items and Variable sets.

Configurable Actions: Added the option to Enable/Disable the usage of the Bulk Actions. You can navigate to UI Policy Accelerator > Administration > Properties to configure the options.

Following are the configurable properties:

  1. Enable/Disable feature of Bulk Actions for Catalog and Forms
  2. Exclude system created or custom fields to be available for selection in Bulk Action selection popup
  3. Exclude specific variable types to be available for selection in Bulk Action selection popup e.g Container Split, Container End, Label etc

Usage

You can use the utility for Catalog in these ways:

Catalog Item: When the UI Policy is applied to a Catalog Item, the popup brings all the active variables associated with the Catalog item and variables of Variable sets associated with Catalog Items.

This utility does not bring the MRVS Variables in the popup when the policy is applied to Catalog Item. However, individual MRVS Policies are supported though.

Variable Sets: When the UI Policy is applied to a Variable set, the popup brings all the active variables associated with the Variable set selected on the form.

Updated version of the utility is shared here.

Feel free to share any feedback, suggestions, or issues regarding the utility.
